About SHOWA
Founded in Japan in 1954, SHOWA has spent more than 70 years specialising in hand protection. The company has been responsible for a number of important developments in glove technology, including the first PVC glove, the first 100% nitrile latex-free glove and the first breathable waterproof glove using its TEMRES technology.
SHOWA is also unusual in being a fully integrated glove manufacturer. It develops its own machinery, yarns, coatings, polymers, designs and hand formers, giving the company control throughout the manufacturing process.

SHOWA’s DURACoil technology combines specially wrapped fibres with HPPE reinforcement to provide cut and abrasion resistance while retaining a lightweight, comfortable feel. Different coatings are available across the DURACoil family for different working conditions and applications.
Eco Best Technology®
SHOWA’s Eco Best Technology® (EBT) is used in selected nitrile gloves to accelerate biodegradation in biologically active landfills without compromising the intended protection and performance of the glove. SHOWA introduced its first biodegradable nitrile glove in 2012 and has since expanded the technology across disposable and reusable products.
